Luke 1:26-2:35. The real Christmas.

The true Christmas in Jesus, you will enjoy the true essence of Christmas when you understand who Jesus is, and what his birth meant.

Announcing the birth of Jesus

26 In the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent by God to a city of Galilee called Nazareth,

27 To a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin’s name was Mary.

28 And the angel came in to her and said, “Hail, most favoured! The Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women.

29 But when she saw him, she was troubled at his words, and thought what sort of greeting this would be.

30 Then the angel said to her, “Mary, do not be afraid, for you have found favor with God.

31 And now you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you will call his name JESUS.

32 He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Most High; and the Lord God will give him the throne of his father David;

33 and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and his kingdom will have no end.

34 And Mary said to the angel, How shall this be? for I know not man.

35 And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the most High shall overshadow thee: wherefore also the Holy One that shall be born shall be called the Son of God.

This is the true story of Christmas, and this is the story I want to tell you today, and take you to meet that Jesus who was born in a humble manger, because if you keep reading the story in your Bible you will see that there was no room for them in the inn, and He was born there, surrounded by animals, but with the light of heaven upon Him.

Jesus is the center and reason for Christmas.
Today people are thinking of Christmas as that day where they eat dinner as a family, and give presents, but many lack the knowledge that they are celebrating.

What are you missing?

What are you missing today to wait for that magical night that is Christmas, maybe you have already gone out to do your shopping, your presents, the food and all the preparations to celebrate that night, but, the question today is, do you know what is celebrated?

Today, Christmas sounds a lot related to Santa Claus as he is called in some countries, and it is not bad, children wait anxiously for their presents and we will not enter into any controversy today about this character, since it is not the subject.

Also Christmas is related to the Christmas tree, the lights, the decorations, and all that makes Christmas a beautiful night.

Gifts, lights, trees, beautiful customs, but don’t forget the reason.
And that’s fine, all that speaks to us of Christmas, and it’s enjoyable, but, let none of this make us forget the true meaning of that night, don’t substitute the customs or the myths for the true celebration.

There is a story that needs to be told, and known about Christmas, which began with a very young woman who was visited by an angel and told that she would conceive the son of God.

It is a story that changed the history of the world, it was so much the love of God for the human being, that he sent his son to be born like any other child and to fulfill the mission of being our Savior.

If you look at history from an analytical perspective you may not understand it, salvation is by faith through Jesus, and there is no other way, look at history and you must only believe for that night to have true meaning.

This is the powerful story of Christmas that you must not forget, whatever your circumstances, and whatever form or amount of things you have that night to celebrate.

Jesus, the most humble of kings, was born in a manger, and his birth gives us a light in the midst of darkness.

“That star of Bethlehem,” said in popular language without going into technicalities, which in this year 2020 was seen once again after 800 years, in this very special year, marked by a pandemic, the star that guided those kings to the place where our Lord was born, in a year with much pain and sadness, the light of God is seen and it is not by chance.

You can have it all that night, but what are you missing?

If in your heart there is sadness, pain, anguish and if you do not find hope or joy in anything, perhaps your manger is empty.

How is your heart? Do you have the Lord in him?

There is only one way to know if that God is in your life, and the sign that Jesus dwells in your life, is that the peace of God that surpasses all understanding, is in your heart regardless of what you are living, if this is not so, you must look to heaven with your heart today.

The center and reason for this story is Jesus.

John 3: 16 says 16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

That child who was born in Bethlehem, in that humble manger, is the son of God, who came for you, was born, died, and rose again for you and me.

If you think you have nothing to celebrate, you are not understanding the true celebration.

The world is in darkness, we are surrounded by violence, death and sin, but, He came to bring light and hope to a lost world.

Christmas, Jesus, is a gift from God the Father to the human being, a gift well given is the one who gives it, seeks the best for the one who receives it.

And the gift of the Lord was, a light of hope and a Savior, in which if you believe in Him, you will not be lost and you will have the life that God wants for you, do not reject the gift of the Lord.

It is not about arguments, which you can have many, it is not by human strength that you get out of some circumstances.

It is not because of intellect, because no matter how much you study and have, or want to seek scientific explanations, there are things that you will only achieve if you let into your heart that King who was born and for whom every year the world celebrates Christmas.

That night Jesus split the history of the world in two, and there is a before Christ, and after Christ, that’s how important it is.

So, answer that question today, is Jesus really in the manger of your heart? If you don’t seek and ask Him every day if what you do, is really what He wants for you, if you don’t have His peace, then your manger is empty and today Jesus knocks on the door of your heart and says, “let me in.

Do not remain in darkness, come to Jesus, open your heart to Him, there where you are, close your eyes and say “Lord I open my heart to you, come into my life, forgive me, cleanse me, change my life, make me a new person, I give myself to you. Amen”.

It is my wish that this Christmas, Jesus will shine in your life, and that his peace will reign in you, whatever you are going through.

Merry Christmas with Jesus in your heart, celebrate his birthday.
With Jesus in your heart then you can say, “Merry Christmas”.
